Dr. Peter Mrakpor, SAN
 
 In a career that spans over three decades of distinguished service in law and public administration, Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor, SAN, has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most respected legal minds and public figures. From humble beginnings in Delta State to the pinnacle of Nigeria’s legal profession, Dr. Mrakpor’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, discipline, and a deep commitment to justice and nation-building.
 
Born on September 7, 1965, in Edjophe, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr. Mrakpor attended Ogbe Primary School, Benin Cit, and Urhobo College in Effurun. He completed his secondary studies at Iguobazuwa Grammar School, Edo State.
 
His passion for justice led him to study law at the University of Benin, where he earned his LL.B in 1988. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989 after completing his training at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos.
 
He later obtained a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy, and earned a Doctorate in Commerce and Enterprise Development from the Bilingual University of Togo.
 
Mrakpor began his legal career in Enugu State during his National Youth Service Corps year. He went on to work in the renowned chambers of M.P. Ohwovoriole, SAN, between 1990 and 1992, before rising to become Head of Chambers at Wale Ajiboye & Co.
 
In 1993, he co-founded Mrakpor & Oju, and later became Senior Partner at Crest Solicitors, where he practiced until 2007. His corporate legal experience also includes roles as Company Secretary to Crownrise Finance & Investments Ltd and the Baba Agbo Group of Companies.
 
A pivotal moment in his career came in 2015, when he was appointed Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration. His tenure brought significant legal reforms and a renewed focus on human rights and justice delivery. He served until 2021.
 
In 2020,  he was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
 
Dr. Mrakpor’s leadership extends beyond the bar and bench. He was elected President of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, and is a Fellow of several distinguished institutes including:
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK);
Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators;
Institute of Management Consultants; and
Institute of Commerce & Enterprise Development.
 
He also serves on the Council of Legal Education and is a member of the Body of Benchers, the highest regulatory body in Nigeria’s legal profession.
 
Beyond law and governance, Dr. Mrakpor has committed himself to philanthropy and social development. He is the Founder of MercyGate Foundation, which focuses on youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and anti-trafficking initiatives.
