Lucky Emuejeaboghene Fiakpa, born on December 24, 1964, hails from Ekakpamre in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.

An alumnus of University of Lagos where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in economics(1985) and Master’s degree in economics (1995).

He has worked extensively in the media before joining the National Insurance Commission. He is a Deputy Director with the insurance regulator. Fiakpa was the editor, Financial Vanguard (2008—2009); Deputy Editor/Group Business Editor, ThisDay Newspapers (2006—2008); Publisher, MoneyPost magazine (2003—2006); Assistant Editor/Business Editor, TELL magazine (1994—2003); Deputy Editor, Business magazine (1990—1994); and Business Correspondent, African Guardian magazine (1987—1990.)

He is married to Mercy Fiakpa and they have children.
