JOE CHIGBO ANICHEBE is the Chief Strategy Officer of Owelli Media Ltd, owners of Owelli FM, an Igbo radio station. A  former Director, Post Privatization Monitoring Department in the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), he spent most part of his career in BPE leading the public communications team as the Head, Public Communications Unit. 

He was born on March 6, 1960 in Owelli, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. He attended Modebe Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State (1976-1981).

Anichebe graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Accra, Ghana in 1984 with diploma in Journalism. After a stint as a media entrepreneur, he joined Punch Newspapers in 1985 as a reporter/production assistant.

He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism from Howard University, Washington, DC; and a certificate in General Management from the Harvard Business School (The General Manager Program TGMP9); Certificate in Trade Negotiation from Harvard Kennedy School of Government; Certificate in Strategic Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Anichebe has held several positions both in the private and public sectors. Anichebe serves in several boards, including Chairman, Transition Board, Ughelli Power Plc; Member/Treasurer, Board of Trustees, Gede Foundation.
