Godfrey Chukwudi Obinabo was born on September 30, 1962, in Wusasa, Zaria, to the illustrious family of late Igwe Obinabo, Amadu 1 of Ifitedunu, Dunu Kofia L.G.A, Anambra State.

He attended Federal Polytechnic, Bida where he obtained his higher national diploma and Federal University of Technology, Minna where he graduated with a degree in engineering in 1989.

He is the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Geoffield Nigeria Limited; a firm of electrical & consulting engineers, specializing in the provision of electronic security solutions.

Obinabo is a member of several professional bodies and associations, among which are the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria; Nigeria Society of Engineers; Institute of Industrial Security and Safety of Nigeria; and International Facilities Management Association.

He also sits on the Board of many companies including e-Barcs Financial Group; e-Barclays MF Bank Ltd.; Arcscon Construction Group, Afrisec Distribution & Consulting Ltd.

His Ifite Dunu community initiated him into the Ozo title as Ozo Onyeaghana Nwanneya na Ifitedunu. 

He is married to Maureen Chinelo Obinabo and they are blessed with children.
