High Chief J. N. Green-Amakwe was born on the 18th day of January, 1960 in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria. He is a native of Mgbokonta Nvosi, in Isi Ala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State.

He holds a diploma in banking and the membership of the Institute of Bankers, London. He also holds a B.Sc. degree in political science from University of Abuja.

He worked in First Bank of Nigeria Plc and the defunct Progress Bank of Nigeria Plc in junior and executive positions respectively. He is presently a businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Flash Multi Services Limited and Awake Security Limited.

A committed community leader, philanthropist and social worker, Green-Amakwe is married with children.

He loves sports and plays lawn tennis.
